Dr. Morris specializes in family practice and focuses on complex health issues from autism to chronic fatigue through Functional Medicine practices, which is an evolution in medical care that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and evaluating the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
After long and careful consideration, Good Medicine has officially transitioned it’s billing model to a “Fee for Service” structure, also known as cash pay. As of June 1, 2017, Good Medicine will cease all agreements with Insurance Providers and Medicare as well as submission of any claims to insurance. The annual membership will continue unchanged.
New member initial appointments will be 2 hours with direct contact with Dr. Morris, as well as 30 minutes to review your Living Matrix to prepare for your initial appointment. The first follow-up appointment is scheduled for 45 minutes for a fee of $210. All other follow-up appointments will be scheduled for 30 minutes for a fee of $140. All new member paperwork needs to be completed and mailed or faxed in prior to scheduling the initial appointment. We cannot receive the packet via email since email is not HIPPA compliant.
At least 2 weeks. We screen for urgent labs — if a lab is urgent we will call you. Please make sure we have a patient portal account. Dr. Morris, at times, orders labs that take a little longer to get back and will notify you when all results are back. If you do not have a patient portal, then you will have to pick up a copy in person. We no longer mail out results.
The Patient Portal is an extension of our medical record system, that has your confidential records on it and much more. To get on the portal, Good Medicine must have a valid email address, and an invitation has to be sent from our office. Please email us with your email address and your name to make sure we send the right email and invitation. Please give our office a call if you need help. Please be aware our Patient Portal complies to HIPPA standards. There is sensitive information on this portal. Please keep your password in a safe place. It is important that you do not lose or forget your password. Please do not give your password to anyone. If you do not receive an email with your password and portal address information, please check your junk folder. This Patient Portal is very useful to patients when used correctly. Please call our office with any questions.
To sign into the Patient Portal, you will need to be invited by the Charm Electronic Record System. This happens within our office and we will need an active email. Please email our office, to help arrange this.
It is the patient’s responsibility to find out what lab / facility is covered by their insurance. Some of the specialized testing we do is NOT covered by insurance. You are always welcome to work with your insurance and try to submit claims that may not normally be covered. That will be between you and your insurance company. If you do not have insurance coverage, please ask us about our cash pay labs system through LabCorp. Their prices are a fraction of the cost when we act as the intermediary for you the patient.
